Beschreibung:	GESPRÄCH UND DISKUSSION Academic philosophy is closely associated with the individual sciences in that as a science theory, it contributes to the analysis of hypothesis formulation and theory development. Viewed formerly as a universal, today as a basic science, the question arises as to how philosophy can be positioned within the spectrum of university research, and how other disciplines can enter into a fruitful dis-course with it. The Zukunftskolleg – a unique, interdisciplinary organization for the promotion of tal-ented junior researchers – would like to set a discourse of this kind in motion. Most importantly in the process, research fellows of the younger generation have an opportunity to interact with inter-nationally established researchers. Type of event: We envision a 15 to 20-minute introductory lecture by two speakers, in which each presents their position on a topic, followed by a moderated discussion between them. Questions and remarks from the audience are also taken into consideration. Each event is to last no longer than 90 minutes.
